If you are receiving this email, you are located in an area where our DSL transport provider, Expedient, Inc., has decided to stop offering service. Regretfully, because of this decision, SMI must notify you that your DSL service will be terminated as of Mar 31, 2013. This means you MUST make other internet arrangements prior to that date or you will no longer have internet service. This announcement is also posted on our website at www.chesapeake.net.
You may, if you wish, retain your chesapeake.net email address(es) by replying to this email (or send an email to email@example.com) with a list of the email address(es) you want to retain before Friday Mar 29, 2013. Prepaid annual email accounts are available for $3/mo each. If we do not hear from you by that date, your chesapeake.net email address(es) will be deleted when your DSL account is deactivated on Mar 31, 2013.
For those that require assistance in locating and setting up new internet and/or mail service, we have partnered with CBay IT Services, a local company specializing in small business and residential technical support services. Their rates are very reasonable. They can be reached at 443-295-4885.
For those that do NOT require assistance, your options are as follows:
- · Do nothing – Your DSL and @chesapeake.net email addresses will be terminated automatically on March 31 2013.
- · Contact another internet provider such as Comcast or Verizon to arrange installation of cable or DSL internet and/or email service before Mar 31 2013 to avoid service interruption.
- I speak for all of us at SMI when I say we are as disappointed in these circumstances as our valued customers are, many of whom have been with us for over 17-years. To those of you that are affected by this, it has truly been a pleasure providing service to you over the years.
