As a service to our customers, the  following information describes upcoming  or ongoing system upgrades along with any  scheduled or unscheduled downtimes. All  scheduled downtimes will be carried out  in off-peak hours when possible to reduce  the impact on our customers.

Note: Titles with red text indicates an active problem or that work that is being conducted at the present time.

Jun 19, 2016 - EMAIL - 10AM - Chesapeake.Net email service has been restored. NOTE: Many ISPs (Comcast, Verizon and others) will continue to resend failed email attempts for up to 5 days.  Senders from ISPs that do not resend failed email attempts will need to resend email. Since our email server was down, and could not receive email, it had no way to save emails during the downtime.

Jun 18, 2016 - UNPLANNED OUTAGE - EMAIL - 8PM - New email server build and configuration is complete.  Account migration to new server has begun.  Estimated time to transfer 12 hours.

Jun 16, 2016 - UNPLANNED OUTAGE - EMAIL - 4PM - an outage occurred on our primary inbound mail server which stopped incoming mail from reaching mailboxes. Technicians are working to determine the cause.
 
Jun 17, 2016 - UNPLANNED OUTAGE - EMAIL - 8AM - New email server is being configured.  Once complete email will be transferred to new server and service restored.

Jun 16, 2016 - UNPLANNED OUTAGE - EMAIL - 4PM - an outage occurred on our primary inbound mail server which stopped incoming mail from reaching mailboxes. Technicians are working to determine the cause.

Feb 10, 2013 - UNPLANNED OUTAGE - DSL - 10AM - an outage occurred at ourt baltimore facilty due to hardware failure.  Hardware was repaired and DSL customers were able to login by powercycling DSL modems by 7:40AM Feb 11

Aug 18, 2011 PLANNED MAINTENANCE 11PM - 4AM -
engineers will perform scheduled maintenance on the Chesapeake.net email server. It is expected that email service will be unavailable from 11:00PM to 4AM (EDT). During the outage, you will not be able to send or receive Chesapeake.net email and webmail will not be available. Mail that is sent to you during the outage will be stored and delivered to your mailbox when service is restored.

Dec 13, 2010 7PM - Mail server and phone service has been restored

Dec 13, 2010 5PM - (MAIL) Due to a downed data line in the salisbury area, The mail server is inaccessible as is our technical support and billing staff.  Phone company technicians are aware of the issue and have been dispatched to make repairs.  No ETA has been given.
